Though I don't think we have enough evidence to change things after one game. However, the bias in selection and weighting of conferences has been shown for years. It's a $ grab by the big schools and will continue to be.
Since they don't all play each other its really impossible to know who is the best. The SEC plays 8 home games and rarely east of the Mississippi. Well most programs are better at home.
It seems that giving each conference 3 bids (unless a G5 or ND is better) could be interesting. It gives conferences a better chance to prove themselves. With the schedule now you don't know if Colorado or BYU are better than Ole Miss, Ohio State, or Bama because they'll never play. Also the SEC will always claim better SOS due to early rankings. They need to solve it on the field.
