I just checked the manual and the gas tank capacity in my wife’s car is 20.0 gallons. There’s been a time or two where
I've actually driven it past the completely empty indicator, and yet I've never filled the tank with more than 16.5 gallons. My guess is that 3.5 gallons is the threshold based on the shape of the tank that ensures sufficient flow regardless of incline/decline? Or is there another reason?
