- It really makes people angry. You could get shot.

- Lots of people have cameras now. Decent probability of getting caught and punished (unless you're in California).

- Seems like most of the time you don't even know what you're stealing. A random Amazon box could have expensive electronics, or it could be full of useless junk.

- Even in the internet age, fencing goods seems like a hassle and you won't get full value.

- It's morally wrong and you are hurting society by literally robbing from men, women, and children.

Risk-reward ratio seems bad. Sad that society has sunk to this. I guess it's largely perpetrated by people who aren't really thinking it through, but we used to have a higher trust society.
