Our old computer needs to be replaced. Went down, took it to a guy to fixed, told us there was an issue with the mother board, he "fixed" it, but it went down again after two or three uses.

It is like 11 years old, so not unreasonable that it needs to be replaced. It is a Dell XPS 8500, I replaced the optical drive and a 4 TB HDD, which I would like to salvage.

As I'm between jobs right now, budget is a consideration, was hoping for the 600 range, maybe up to 1,000 if I found something that was a good deal and worth the extra money.

Primary uses are my wife uses it for her scrapbooking which is with photoshop, we use lightroom. Also use the Microsoft office suite and internet use. That is pretty much it, my wife does constantly have lots of windows as well as programs open, so would want something that is quick enough to not bog down. But no gaming.

Have never had a Mac, but not opposed to them either. Some of the mini's look interesting. But looking for the best value.
