I still think Lavelle's response to a fan was hilarious. Used to have call in show after games.

BYU vs SDSU. BYU had come back from far back and went for tie which gave them league championship.

Fan. Why didn't you go for the win?
Lavelle. A tie would give us the championship after coming from so far down.
Fan. You should have gone for the win!
Lavelle. That's why I am the coach and you're calling in.
