I am 6 weeks past becoming a table-saw injury statistic. Had a little edge to shave off a cut I did. Halfway through I get the thought, "You know, I should use a push stick for this....,well I'm almost done, I'll get it for the next one." Second later I have a large rip through the tip of my finger. Glad my wife was home, because if I had needed to drive myself to ER I would have got into an accident. 10 stitches later, 6 weeks of having it covered and keeping it moist with petroleum jelly, and learning to type more with my middle finger, it's looking almost presentable. Kept the finger and I haven't lost too much feeling, but the fingertip is about 20% skinner now. Good news: nose picking should be a bit more comfortable.
Funny story: Get to the local InstaCare at the hospital. The receptionist is kinda freaked out after I say I had a table-saw injury. After a few beats of seeing a very frazzled look in her eyes, I ask "Should we go to the ER instead."
"Yes," she say. "I wouldn't know what to do."
I say to myself, "Lady, I don't care if you know what to do. That's what doctors are for."
