First, we're going to lose some players. Some have run out of eligibility (Lassiter, Robinson), some will leave for the NFL (Roberts, Kelly), some will enter the portal (Epps, Davis). Of the portal group, some will be fan favorites, some will be impact players, some will be big recruits, and some will be non-contributors. It's going to be tough to see most of these guys go.

Second, we might lose some coaches. Jay Hill is the one we're all worried most about, but there could be opportunities for other coaches as well. We don't know yet. If Hill leaves, he might take some coaches/players/recruits with him. That'll suck.

BUT...

We're going to get a new class of freshmen, some returned missionaries, and a whole new crop of impact players from the portal. We don't know who the portal players are yet, but rest assured we'll get some good ones. That gets me very excited. Who will be 2025's Isaiah Bagnah, Caleb Etienne, or Harrison Taggert?

And if we lose Jay Hill that'll be a bummer. But BYU has made some pretty impressive coaching hires recently. I choose to be optimistic that we can find another dude who will improve our defense.

The 2024 season was an impressive step up over 2023. I can't wait to open the door to 2025 with a busy offseason.
