Then (BCS) and now (CFP) it's the same crapshot, hand picked teams that go.
All FBS teams, have 2 divisions
All FBS teams take the division winners and have a CCG
All Conference Champions, go to the playoffs.
2 wild card teams play for the final spot.
FBS can no longer say, we are for the "student athletes". NIL has made that argument null and void.
No one should EVER hand pick winners. Play the game and let the game decide the winners and losers.
