Got my timing chain done. Now looking for scanner tool recommendations
The pro mechanic on the YouTube video said it took him 14 hours the first time he did this repair. I think I am at about 25 hours. If I hadn’t been quoted $6500 as the cheapest quote, I might have had a shop do it. It cost me about $1050 in parts and new tools.

Things seem great. No rough start. No rough idle. No gutless acceleration. No rattle in the timing cover.

But now I need to kick of the relearn for the variable valve timing and the idle/MAF. There were a few forums that said you could try a couple of manual ways to try and trigger the relearn, but they didn’t work for me.

My cheap-o scanner tool can only do reading and clearing DTC codes and can’t initiate relearn functions. A local shop quoted me $235 for those two relearn procedures. I saw that the Innova 5610 is on Black Friday deal on Amazon for $241 the Autel Mk808s for $386.

Any comments on these two scanners, or if there is a better/cheaper option?
