if we lose him.
The defense, with its flaws, has been very impressive this year. The turnaround from the dumpster fire that was Tuiaki is something to applaud, and I think the D will only get stronger with more time. I think Jay is a star in the coaching world. His commitment to the team during a health scare was borderline insane, and it told us and the team a lot about him.
Roderick does some good things, but looking at his body of work I can't call him better than average. Kalani lost me with his handling of the Tuiaki situation. I think he's a great person and represents the school well. He'd done nothing, here or at Utah or at Oregon St, to show me that he's a genius with X's and O's. His teams have struggled with discipline. He's the coach and while he's here I will support him, but he's an average head coach.
If Jay leaves, I am not sure who we get to replace him, but he needs to be another all-star. In my view, I think Jay is lifting the entire coaching staff and covering a lot of deficiencies.
