We knew coming into the game that ASU has had a red-hot offense. You need to get in the game and get used to it. Let all the jitters, nerves, and everything calm down and get into the rhythm of the game.
On 4th and 4 on our first drive, we again, elect to go for it, with ball just on our side of mid field. ASU may have scored with a short or long field. But why in the world would we help them by risking a short field? Just simply punt, pin them back inside their 10 and let the defense NOT have to start with their backs against the wall.
Yes, there are so many plays and situations that could have won the game for us. But Kalani's gambling at mid field just flat out puts the odds in the other teams favor.
Punt, pin em back and let our defense get settled in.
NOT SMART football. You may be able to do that with some of the lesser teams on the schedule, but not with the best teams you play.
