I might try out scuba diving in Maui. Should I pre-certify or do a beginners
dive excursion.

We’ll be going with 3 other couples and us guys were talking about trying it out for the 1st time. Due to a work connection for the trip we have access to a sizable resort credit and could do their shore dive for beginners (certification not required) or their shore dive for those already certified. The description makes both excursions look the same (both at Kapalua bay beach), except the beginners dive has an extra hour before the 1.5 hour dive for training and specifies it won’t go deeper than 40 ft.

The question is, should we just do the beginners dive, or go get scuba certified beforehand and do the more advanced dive (or even pay for a better dive after being certified)?

Never done it before so curious what you all think would be a better experience.
