Tyler Batty and the incredible power of emotion in football -
We don't condone the swearing, that could have been easily left out, but can you see why Tyler Batty is such a great player? He understands the basic elements. And if our entire team had that fire, we would easily be 11-0. And we STILL can be that champion!

I saw this team live at the Kansas game with my own two eyes, in freezing cold weather, and it's a very talented, good football team just needing to elevate to the next level of play, and we don't need any other players to do it this year.

Remember last year when Tyler got ticked off at Texas, then took over on defense in that game in the first half - he looked super-human!

Football, obviously, is an emotional game, much more so than basketball.

The attitude has to be: How dare those poor guys in the wrong colored jersey even show up for this game!

We had enough additional juice-makers to boot before the Arizona game: Their quarterback making references to getting slighted for not getting an offer as a freshman from BYU.
"Boo hoo! We'll show you, we're gonna chase and nail you this entire game." (and you don't say this stuff publicly of course)

Or his Dad saying he'd like to see AZ State cream us by 30 points. And other players and fans were giving us plenty of locker room material.

Michael Jordan, the greatest basketball player of all time, used to read the local press before road games, looking for juice material from other coaches and players.

Bobby Bowden, the great Florida coach, once ran up the score on one of his good friends, the great coach Lou Holtz. When they met afterward at midfield, Holtz asked:
"Bobby, why did you do that? We're friends."
Bowden, in truth a wonderful Christian, replied:
"It's your job to keep the score down, not mine. If you don't like the score, either recruit harder or coach better. I've got to coach my team, and you've got to coach yours. You can coach only one team."

We let two teams narrowly beat us and neither should have happened. Excepting just a few plays we could have won both.

That's enough juice to propel a team to a championship.
