1st down seems to be the big problem for me. It is the down where we seem to go the home run play too often. When that lower percentage play doesn't pan out, we try the run from the 2nd and 10 and then that gets stuffed or a marginal gain. Then we have another 3rd and long scenario.

I'm not opposed to passing on first down, just make it an easier, shorter gain type of play. Getting 5 yards on first down would make such a difference. Completing a short pass on first down will actually open up the running game and longer passing game.
