I'm wondering if the change of possession might actually nullify the yardage penalty/award.

Normally, an IG would
-Penalize the offense which committed the infraction. Loss of down and loss of yards.
-Benefit the defense against which the infraction was committed.

But, can it also Reward the offense of the team against which the infraction is committed? (when the infraction carries a loss of down, and leads to change of possesion). Can penalty yards from an offensive infraction ever be assessed against the offending team's defense?
