Can someone that knows the Big 12 tiebreaker explain why Iowa State is in over
BYU, and the Cougars therefore need a loss by Iowa State or ASU?

Obviously, ASU has the head to head over BYU. That part is easy.

But BYU and Iowa State didn't play and I can't see an easy to spot reason why they would be in over BYU if both win next week.

It must be a point spread or something? BYU beat Kansas State by 29 points-- the best conference win of either school.

BYU has the higher rated OOC win--SMU for BYU. 7-4 Iowa for Iowa State.

I'm sure there's a clear reason, but it's not jumping out to me. Help me out CB.
