Being a BYU fan is incredibly hard.
There are more elements that other fans don’t have to deal with that BYU fans have to.

First for basketball and football which are the only two college sports people pay attention to, we don’t have a lot to speak for other than 1 football championship and 1 elite 8 appearance in basketball. Not a ton to cheer for there.

Second, the religious aspect. I’m not even an active member of the church anymore but the ongoing ridicule BYU gets for being different is hard to handle. It’s personal even though I haven’t been to church in years. We want to prove we are equals, that we belong but year in and year out we just can’t quite get to the top. Lots of heartbreak years like 2001, 2020 and now 2024 in football and then Jimmers senior season with Davies and 2020 covid year cancelled when we had a special team.

Really hoping to catch a break here and have a miracle. BYU fans deserve it with their loyalty throughout the years. No team has more loyal fans than ours. When times are tough we still pack the stadiums and arenas.

We deserve better. We’re going to demand a lot from our coaches and players because we’ve given a lot.
