yes we lost to Kansas. But the Kansas game was 100% a fluke. The biggest play of the game was a pooch punt hitting our guy and our other guys missing it. Retzlaff with a brain dead decision and worse throw on 1st and goal from the 5. We outgained them 354 to 252 (that doesn't always tell the story, but here it does a lot).

We should have won that game. We outplayed them and lost.

Why was Oklahoma St close? Well the #1 reason was we were not prepared for what they threw at us from their offense. Again we outgained them (473-421) and after a couple of drives where we tried to get a little too cute in the 1st half, we dominated offensively, with 4 drives in the 2nd half resulting in 3 TDs and one FG.

Utah; The Utah performance was also a win in yards with 339-259 advantage. On top of that we forced 3 TO's while they forced none. What kept them in the game? Us going 1-12 on 3rd down.

As you can see in the 3 games in which we "struggled" we significantly gained more yards and should have been farther up than what we were. It is those little things that need to be cleaned up.


BYU is a better team than Arizona St. I have a lot of confidence in BYU, especially playing in front of 20,000 plus Cougar Fans!
