If BYU does manage to get to CCG and plays CU, beating them won't just be big for CFP berth, but recruiting.
Hopefully... anyway. TCU's appearance in the CFP and becoming national runner up a couple years ago hasn't seemed to boost their recruiting in a way that has translated into consistent on field success. So it may not matter either way.

But as it stands now, Colorado is on a huge trajectory upward with Coach Prime and is looking like they'll only be getting better with the surge in high end recruiting they're now getting. If they get in over BYU (or ASU, or ISU), it will only accelerate the gap that they're on their way to gaining over every other B12 program.

Their NIL and media hype is set to go through the roof with how things are going for them.

On the flip side, maybe this is what the B12 needs. A high profile media darling to raise the profile of the whole conference. I just hope BYU can continue to build and grow and hopefully do its part to also raise the conference profile as well.

If CU is on course to be the new 'Texas' of the B12, I can only hope BYU can become the new 'Oklahoma'.

Maybe a CCG showdown with Colorado this year can be the start of a new and competitive "Rocky Mountain Rumble" rivalry for years to come. Which would be very ironic given how the PAC12 attempted to manufacture a rivalry between Utah and Colorado.
