Lack of execution killed us
Too many mistakes across the board.

Again, coaches having issues with clock management and time outs. Play calling was suspect at times, but it's hard to look good when execution is lacking.

Offense has been struggling. With what started as a prolific attack has sputtered over the last 5 halves. Our offense is now a middling 69th per PFF.

The following is in no particular order:

We were stuffed on the run multiple times when we needed yards. The OL has taken a big step back without Kiem. 34/162 is good, if consistent. Seemed like 6-7 times we were completely stuffed, especially at times when we needed the run. Pass pro felt like Retz didn't have much time, similar to Utah. Not sure why Ropati got the rock on 2nd and 3rd down at the end. Stuffed both times. We could have really used a big back this year for short yardage plays. On the second to last drive?

Poor INT on fade. Poor decision and just a really bad throw. This is probably the hardest play to execute from a timing and throw perspective. And there wasn't great height advantage (e.g. think Utah's Lohner).

False start with game on the line. Needed those 5 yards. Critical time to have a false start. Not sure if this was on Pay or the rest of the OL.

WR drops. Some passes behind receivers, but too many drops to keep momentum.

Retz missing on multiple deep throws. Completely crossed up, over threw or didn't have touch when needed.

QB unsuccessfully audibled out of a few plays. Not sure what he saw, but the defense was showing good pre-snap coverage on the 3rd run of the last series. A Run-option to the side did not have numbers. And QB didn't run much (7/21) to make them think he was a threat.

Fluke combination of being hit in the helmet 40 yards downfield by a last-minute pooch punt, combined with ball bouncing out of a diving Robinson, who has sure hands.

The long, time consuming drive was brilliant, until it was not. Kansas, despite their record, was #8 in PFF offense. They averaged a ton of points and yards. Needed a TD on that drive.

Drives:

TD
INT (Half)

Downs

We held them enough to win. Offense whiffed.
