Next day thoughts
Honestly I get all of our frustration on here. Just shows how true fans we are and how dedicated and invested we are.

I worry about A Rod. I think some things he’s incredible at. He seems to be super good at coaching QBs. And when you listen to him it sounds like he knows what he’s doing.

But his play calling can be a little frustrating. Sometimes it works out (like that option out to Miles Davis against SMU) but also for someone who loves analytics, you gotta realize that when you just drove the entire field and Kansas could not stop our run, FEED LJ. Or Hinckley. Or Moa. Much better than an underthrown fade.

Jake has been great a lot of this year. I’m not ready to jump on the hate Jake train. But he didn’t have a great game. He missed a couple long balls that woulda been touchdowns. To Marion and Lassiter. Hit on those and this game may have opened up and turned into a blow out.

I also worry if he is the one audibling into some of the bad play calls (that option)
I may be wrong, but I think he likes to be the man (no problem w that) but even the announcers pointed out he kept the ball a couple of times on the RPO that he should have given off.

The reason we have won so far is because we play our assignment sound ball and play unselfishly. We need that to be the main thing.

Good news is that we still have a whole lot to play for this year after a late loss (unlike past years).

If we really are a good team, then we should be able to beat ASU. Defense has been great. A Rod can spend a few minutes looking into the mirror and then get to work on improving that play calling.

I think our guys play better in warmth / our passing attack so ASU will be a good game. If we beat ASU then we know we deserve it and go take care of business at Houston! If not, bummer way to finish but it’s been a fun year so far. Night and day difference. And much rather be in our spot than up on the Hill w/ that train wreck.

Win next week, get the train back on the tracks, and let’s go!
