A few notes about BYU Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country performance at Regionals.
1. Who sat?
The Men sat Aidan Troutner, James Corrigan, and Lucas Bons. The Women sat Lexy Halladay-Lowry, Jenna Hutchins, and Nelah Roberts.

2. Race strategy?
The Men packed up and ran very conservatively. The last 2k they moved up, which is a great sign. The Women ran conservatively as well, and their top four runners moved up in the last 2k.

3. Performance of the depth?
It wasn’t that great - there were no surprises. Luke Grundvig (25th) did as expected and Garrett Stanford (40th) and Jacob Stanford (61st) were slower. Destiny Everett (30th) and Anastaysia Davis (38th) were a little slower than expected.

4. Carlee Hansen/Jenna Hutchins
Carlee was up with the front pack of BYU gals through 4k but dropped eight spots in the last 1.3k - not good. Jenna Hutchins did not run, and Deseret News reported she is injured. Also not good.

All in all these were good races by both teams. Davin Thompson and Taylor Rohatinsky both came into this season off of injuries and seem to be rounding into shape at the perfect time.

The teams ran smart, moved up throughout the races, and didn’t expend more energy than needed. This was especially true of Casey Clinger as he purposely didn’t go out with the leaders.
