The best part about the Holy War
I keep worrying that games between BYU and Utah will mean less as our teams are composed of fewer Utah-born players, or with the invasion of NIL. I want our guys to want to beat Utah as badly as I want to beat Utah, which is with all my heart. But how much can you expect a Jewish kid from California to care about beating a rival team he just started hearing about a few months ago?

Here's the best part: the U of U's players and fans are so obnoxious, rude, and such poor sports, it actually inspires our guys to naturally want to beat them. If you came into that game Saturday night as a BYU player feeling neutral about the game, like it really was just another opponent, how long until you started to feel differently? Like you really wanted to beat these guys? Was it before the game? On the first play?

My point is, regardless of the sport, I am no longer worried about this rivalry losing its spark. Their fans and players will continue to be themselves, and our guys, regardless of their hometowns, will want to beat them every time they meet.

Thanks yewts. Thanks for being you.
