on the new team. Why? Because a league develops familiarity with each other. When you play each other year after year, you already have a good share of the preparation in your head before the season starts.
When you join a league, every week is a fresh sheet of paper. You have to go through the learning curve with each team. On the flip side, the new conference mates are playing most of their games against familiar teams. Only the new guys are unknown. That's a lot easier than facing a new opponent every week.
But that's not the only explanation for Utah's faceplant this season. After all, they brought some of their PAC12 buddies with them to the B12, including Arizona, ASU and their rival, Colorado. Those games weren't new learning curves.
Even with all this truth, 0-5 is pretty bad.
