It should only be called a penalty ute fans don't see.
The only people who drum up any controversy on it are ute fans (and players and admin). The rest of the world, including the announcers right on the spot, and including BYU staff before the penalty was even announced, including Terry McAulay and Brett McMurphy and others all say it was an "obvious" hold.
No controversy. It was obvious.
And BYU won, without controversy...except ute fans and admin make it controversial by insisting, by stomping their feet like little Rumplestillskins, that it IS controversial.
BYU won that game, fair and square. Without the hold, BYU had a good chance to score more points than they did. With the obvious hold, BYU was still on their own 15 yard line needing to drive the field and score. But it was a hold, it was called, and BYU had to drive a long distance with little time to score.
utes, including tWhitt and Harlan want to make it about that to deflect from the fact that their team (and program) actually objectively sucks. To say "this game was stolen from us" is not only factually incorrect, but an ironic manipulation of perception. In so doing, ironically, they are the ones who are "stealing" this game.
Maybe we should call it the Rumplestillskin game. Angry stomp away with your little inconsequential feet, utes. BYU won.
