After the 2019 Utah v BYU game, I remember listening to Bill Riley. He said
something along the lines of Utah just has better players than BYU and will for the foreseeable future.

But in 2021 BYU embarrassed Utah by outplaying them on the line.

Since 2021, BYU has been upgraded into the Big12 - and has proven to everyone that it deserves to be here. Utah has taken a perceived step backward. Whitt has all-but said he wants to leave the Big12 for greener pastures, and Harlan made his opinion on the conference known early Sunday morning. Utah will get more money than BYU from the Big12 this year, yet Utah has to watch BYU have a historic season while the pieces around Utah fall apart. Utah has lost long-tenured coaches, and players and fans are left emotionally empty after an improbable defeat to BYU. Utah is the team everyone in the Big12 hates, and the actions by the AD and coach solidifies Utah's reputation as pompous whiners.

I like the way this is trending, and I hope it continues for another 10 years. I don't know if the SEC and B1G break away from the NCAA to form its own league, but I love that BYU is positioning itself to be ahead of Utah if that happens and those conferences want to capture the Utah market.
