Daniels is a 50% passer it looks like... he's more in the 50's than he's not. He's passing the ball about 31 times a game it looks like and he is completing anywhere from 12 to 18 of those passes. He was 12 for 24 this last week against Iowa St. Daniels isn't running the ball much either, but when he does he is able to pick up big yards. In fact it seems like all of their yards gained are big chunk plays. It seems that Daniels has a pass play of 50 yards or more every game. Thus you see his numbers from last week, he completed only 12 passes but had almost 300 yards passing.
I think Grimes is going to try and do a little of what Oklahoma State did, real heavy on the RPO stuff. I promise you that Bohanon is playing Daniels at practice this week, which is a HUGE benefit to us. In fact you see Bohanon's stats under Grimes and Danials and they are almost identical, Bohanon probably had slightly better completion numbers... Daniels has the big play numbers.
Our DL has to get pressure on Daniels... if you see what he did against Iowa State... his big completions were when he had all day to setup and pass. If we don't get any pressure on Daniels, we are in for a long day and it could get really ugly fast. Hill has to dial up some blitzing in this game that he hasn't shown yet or come up with something new. Daniels has to feel pressure or we are in big trouble. Kansas has REALLY good WR's... probably as good as our WR's. They all seem really fast and are able to find the space really well. Their RB is averaging about 6 yards a carry, but again he's having big gains in games. He's averaging about 120 yards per game.
I think our defense is better than Iowa States defense, but our DL Is really suspect right now. Almost zero pressure on Rose, but then did well against UCF, but then terrible against OSU. DL has to come up big in this game. Batty needs to have a break out game at some point season... he needs to have one of those games were he appears unstoppable.
