Early in my career we used to call dumb behavior at work, "career limiting moves" or CLMs. Harlan's actions Saturday are a perfect example. A thread about CLMs might be entertaining.
One of my favorites: My team was working on a project with a looming deadline. I was the team manager and asked an intern to go copy some documents. She refused and whined that she only ever got to do menial tasks, asking why I wasn't I making someone else do it. I was taken aback, but tried to calmly explain her role as an intern. Her whining and refusal persisted. Unbeknownst to either of us, my boss--a partner--witnessed the incident. She (the partner) ripped the documents out of the intern's hand, saying, "I'll make the [profanity excluded] copies!"
We never saw that intern again.
