social media acting like entitled jerks all year long and making everyone hate them is not necessarily a good thing for BYU, the state of Utah, or the LDS church. Even though it’s admittedly fun to see them melt down publicly.

Most of the country assumes that BYU and utah are simply two different flavors of LDS, but are otherwise pretty much the same people. They don’t see ute fans or administrators as being meaningfully different from BYU’s. If most people start to perceive of utah fans as arrogant babies and jerks, they may just assume that BYU fans and LDS in general are basically the same. I know we don’t want to be associated with them, but realistically, we will always be associated with them in the eyes of most sports fans.

Let’s hope for more mature and less annoying behavior from our rivals, last night notwithstanding.
