Plantagenet Intervention Needed
Why do coaches and players say that they are doing the usual things to prepare
for the rivalry game?

Studies show that athletes tend to perform worse under pressure. When players play great in clutch situations they’re only doing the things that they regularly do in practice—nothing more. What makes them high performing is that they control their attention under pressure. Coaches and players are getting the psychology right when they insist that they are doing nothing extraordinary. They’re focusing on the necessary task to avoid choking.
