Fun story about LaVell
I recently had a painter who helped me with a project. He started chit-chatting about good customers, bad customers, and some of famous homes he's been in.

As the conversation drew on, he mentioned that he painted LaVell's house several times. He lit up talking about Coach Edwards and said he was one of the best people to work for. At one point while painting the exterior of LaVell's house, he had draped plastic over the bushes/hedge in the front yard to keep overspray off the plants. The painter left the plastic on too long and, when he got around to removing it, realized he had burned the tops of LaVell's bushes.

He said LaVell came out and looked at the bushes, then went into his garage and got a hedge trimmer. He cut the burned tops off each bush, then turned to the painter, smiled, and said "There—now you won't get in trouble!"

Apparently LaVell lived in a pretty modest house, nothing very fancy, and was really approachable and cheerful.

We were lucky to have him.
