BYU Utah 2006....the game that solidified my lifelong BYU fandom
I was 15 at the time, living in Wisconsin. My Dad has always been a big BYU fan and would show my brothers and I games as much as he could (but with the MTN it wasn't always easy). I always enjoyed them, but it was always a little more passive since the team near me was the Badgers. We always went to a friends house to watch the Utah game, and we'd burn something with a Utah logo before the game (that year was a mattress).
I enjoyed watching, but I couldn't get as much into it because of the losses to Utah nearly every year, and the lack of access to watching the games.
That year I watched the BC game and the Wyoming game, which were fun (and annoying with the refs in the BC game).

I remember expecting BYU to roll in that game, since BYU was ranked and Utah wasn't doing so great, and that the 1st quarter started off great, but it was depressing to see Utah come back and take the lead. But then BYU took the lead again, and I was hoping that BYU could hold out again, but then Utah took the lead with just over a minute to go. I thought it was over, but still didn't want to leave, especially with the Utah fans that were there celebrating another win....

BYU started driving, and quickly got down to the 11. I hoped again.
Then there was the incomplete fade to Harline in the endzone. My heart fell into my stomach. I was truly invested in this outcome.

One more shot....Then CAUGHT FOR THE TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!!!

It was a feeling of pure euphoria. Amazing. I was hooked. I became a life-long fan.

I know that it is cheesy but this video very much encapsulated the feeling I had.
18-years later, I'm still a die-hard fan.

GO BYU! BEAT UTAH!!!
