I coached high school football and in the spring we attended a few “ jamborees”.
Each team we faced we got 10 offensive plays and then went on defense for 10 plays, starting at the 40 yd line going in
The object was to score as many points in those 10 plays as possible and stop them from scoring in their 10 plays.
Whoever scored the most won. We would play about 7 or 8 different teams.
A typical 10 play series could be a long run then a FG to get points then a short pass another short pass and another fg, etc etc.
it was actually a ton of fun, we got try all kinds of different plays and try things on defense too
If they did this in the NFL they could do 12 plays since the average NFL drive is 6 plays, this would be like having 2 drives. How many points could you get in 12 plays starting from the 50 say? Google says the average touchdown drive is 12 plays. Maybe teams would be more aggressive or get a quick field goal then try to add a td in their 12 plays.
Penalties constitute a play so don’t get penalties.
Crazy idea but not much crazier then many others I have seen tossed around.
