Hi CougarBoard,
My son is in his Junior year at BYU, in the finance program. He's still undecided on what career path he wants to take, whether corporate finance, VC, etc, just knows he doesn't want to do investment banking.
He's very charismatic, a hard worker, and a self-starter. He's run his own business in high school (window washing for 3 years), and is working his way through college. He's employed PT right now in more of an accounting role at a construction company in Lehi. He attends finance society meetings and networking opportunities on campus, but would love to find more opportunities specific to finance, and is especially interested in a great internship opportunity next summer.
If you or anyone you know might be a good contact for him to make, for either an internship, part-time job, or just mentoring and career advice, would you send me a DM with contact information and a brief description and I will pass them along to my son. He's very good at initiating conversations and can take the ball and run with it if given the chance. His old man is a software engineer, so I haven't been too helpful with many contacts for him to this point.
Thanks CB! And go Cougs!
