I keep seeing comments online about how Utah is going to be motivated to “ruin” BYUs season on the 9th - and I keep rolling my eyes at them because one loss against would not remotely ruin our season yet.

Listen, I want to beat the Utes as much as anyone, but I’m also happy that BYU has put themselves in a position that a loss in this game doesn’t end our hopes for either a conference title or playoff berth. We are still going to play several meaningful football games in November regardless of what happens in SLC. Especially with our tiebreaker against KSU - even 2 losses could still get us into the B12 championship in some scenarios.

In reality, after the 9th, BYU is still going to be in playoff contention, while Utah will still be hoping that they can at least make the Fruit Loops Bowl.
