There was a time when the utes roster was largely made up players who BYU passed over. Those were local kids who understood the rivalry and burned with a real passion against a school they felt disrespected them. They had one game circled at the beginning of the season.

Today's ute roster is made up of kids from all over. If they are a local kid they likely turned down a BYU offer to go to utah. They have been told they're better. They thought they were playing in the CFP this season. BYU was an afterthought.

None of these utes have played in rivalry game yet. BYU needs to continue to play with a chip.
