I wouldn't be surprised, if the playoff committee does their jobs which I expect them to do, if BYU is ranked higher in the playoff ranking than the AP or coaches. Their resume merits a top 5 ranking. I don't expect that but I do expect top 8. I also expect to be ranked ahead of Iowa State in the playoff ranking. Their is zero reason that they should be ranked ahead of BYU at all, it's really not even close.

SMU plays Pitt, BC and Cal at home and at Virginia. They could easily win out with their lone loss being at home to BYU. If they win the ACC how do you not rank BYU top 4 if cougs keep taking care of business?
