I know we are dreaming of the playoff but I wanted to look and see what bowl options might be available this year...
Alamo Bowl vs the PAC 12 - maybe BYU vs Colorado (not sure that another PAC school will warrant an invite), at 10-2 or 9-3 BYU would hopefully still be ranked and one of the higher ranked Big 12 schools who hadn't played Colorado yet. I noticed Washington State is likely to go 11-1 so they may be a fit here as well.
Pop Tarts Bowl vs the ACC/ND - second trip to Orlando
Texas Bowl vs the SEC - maybe LSU or Missouri or Ole Miss or Alabama
Liberty Bowl vs the SEC - Vandy or Florida or Arkansas or Oklahoma or South Carolina
Guaranteed Rate Bowl vs the Big Ten - USC or Washington?
Independence Bowl vs the PAC 12 - maybe Washington State or Oregon State or Cal?
I'm not sure how strictly the PAC 12 bowls will stick to PAC teams but BYU in the Holiday Bowl would be fun as well.
Regardless it seems that without a complete faceplant the next month, BYU will be in their best bowl situation since 1996.
