Other than a porous goalie, in the first period, Utah’s main issue is on defense.
They had difficulty in clearing the zone, often making what appeared to be half-hearted attempts.
One of the goals was the result of a defenseman allowing a Senator to park just outside the crease area; he just stood there and allowed to player to get the puck and score.
The HC dominated the first 10 minutes of the game but after Ottawa scored two quick goals, in a 4 on 4 situation, their focus was never the same.
It’s a young team and it will get better.
First NHL regular season game in quite a few years. Despite the loss, I still had a good time.
