BYU's Defensive Points allowed per drive (PPD) for each game leading up to it:
SMU - 1.15
Wyoming - 0.7
KSU - 1.13
Baylor - 2.15
Arizona 1.73
BYU allowed half the points per drive in every game this season, outside of Baylor, which was still significantly lower.
Good teams find a way to win. I am really glad that in the game BYU had its worst Defensive points per drive allowed, BYU had its best offensive points per drive this season (3.8). Up to this point they had the following Offensive PPD :
SMU - 1.29
Wyoming - 3.0
KSU - 3.43
Baylor - 2.83
Arizona 3.09
I am thinking this UCF game, we should regress closer to our mean in defensive performance (a good thing), and maybe a regression to the mean on offense (Not a good thing), but overall should play better. Got to have an answer for that run game. They have a great running backfield.
