I got sick of the game where they constantly played BYU and Utah fans against each other. To top it off, it felt (to me anyway) that local sports media - TV, radio, print - converted pretty much all the way to team Utah when Utah went to the PAC.
The last couple of weeks, I've been listening to Locked on Big XII podcasts. What a refreshing change to the crap we get from local talk radio. It's a pretty straight-down-the-middle, objective look at all the teams. The interesting contrast for me has been that Drake Toll is very high on BYU - almost sucks up to us. But he freely admits that this is where his listening/viewing base is the heaviest. It's kind of a novel concept that you'd want to feed your audience what they probably want to hear to get them coming back for more. The added bonus is you don't have to listen to nearly as many ads as what you get on sports radio.
Between alternate media like this and the quality that we get out of BYUTV, I don't really see any need to get my fill of BYU news and discussion from traditional sources in Utah.
