Two coaching concerns I saw with the D on Friday night
1. It felt, especially on the long 4th quarter OSU drive, that our defensive signals were getting in reeaaalllly late. Players looking to the sidelines, repeatedly signaling for the play call to get in quicker. We can point to execution by players, but when guys are scrambling to get into position and the snap happens just a second later, it's hard to expect guys to be ready to read and react quickly.

2. There were numerous times throughout the game that OSU would get set and then shift their TEs to the other side of the formation. This must've been an intentional adjustment on our part, but the defense started to completely flip alignment--DEs and LBs running presnap to the other side of the formation. I assume this was meant to counter some of the plays/personnel they were throwing at us, but it's not a very efficient way to run the D and I think leads to players being out of position and unready more than it should.

I think OSU having an extra week against us and us being on a short week played a huge roll in our defensive performance. Looking forward to better results on Saturday.
