IMO, there are some signs that BYU's success can be largely credited to our coaches, both offensively and defensively
We do have some very good players, but everyone acknowledges we have very few bonafide stars. As people are fond to point out, our recruiting rankings won't fool anyone into thinking BYU is working with truly elite talent. But that's just background.
In my mind, these few numbers really tell the tale of coaching success this season - both in terms of scheme/playcalling and in terms of player development. And I think they portend great things for the future health of BYU football.
Offense:
6 running backs have seen significant playing time. We aren't burning up college football in the run game, but it has been solid enough.
5 different players have scored rushing touchdowns
9 different players have recorded receiving touchdowns
Defense:
9 different players have recorded an interception
In the last game alone, 11 different players were credited with a QB hurry
