It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't make us use a pass phrase instead of just a password.
1) To unlock my physical computer
2) To start up the firewall software
3) To start up the software that connects to my VM
4) To connect to my VM
5) To login to the company intranet
That's just to get started. Then I have to re-enter if I'm away from my computer for more than 5 minutes*, even though I'm in a home office where nobody enters but me.
*this is an exaggeration. It's true that my physical computer will require credentials after 5 minutes if no activity is detected - but I invested in a $7 dongle that imperceptibly moves the mouse pointer if no activity is detected, getting by that requirement. However, my VM does require credentials after 15 minutes of inactivity, so if I'm on my physical computer for a Zoom meeting or something for more than 15 minutes without switching over to my VM - I'll have to login again.
