In the Arizona game BYU had a third down stop at about midfield, making it 4th
down and 3. Arizona had a procedure penalty on the play. BYU accepted the penalty and made it 3rd and 8 instead of 4th and 3.

Did anyone else besides me feel like they should have declined the penalty and made it 4th and 3 and made it be one play for the stop?

Arizona converted the first down on the next play and ended up scoring a field goal on the drive if I remember correctly.

Arizona would have gone for it on 4th down regardless, so I felt like it was better to put them in a one play situation rather than give them two chances to make the first town by accepting a 5-year penalty. Not much advantage to that in my opinion. What do you all think?
