I got invited by a member of the '84 team (he's the friend of a relative who knows I'm a big fan), to go with him to the game Friday where that squad will be celebrated for the 40th anniversary of the National Championship. I live in SoCal so getting to Provo requires time off work, and I just did that Saturday to catch the Arizona game. I would love to go but am having a hard time seeing how I get away with both spending the $ to get to Provo and for the time off work. It'd be at least a few hundred bucks and 1-2 days away from the office, or many hundreds and just one day away.

Am I an idiot for not snapping up this chance and coughing up the dough, dang the frickin' torpedoes?
