My daughter signed up for ILP and was supposed to go to the DR in January. However, for a variety of reasons she had to cancel. She had paid a down payment of about $300, and expected to lose that. However, they are now telling her she needs to pay $1,000. They sent her an addendum to the agreement showing cancellation fees. Looks like she signed the contract, which had many bullet points, one of which stated she agreed to the terms of the addendum.

Is she legally bound? Not sure what her options are here, but one of the primary reasons she cancelled was because she couldn’t afford it, so paying $1,300 for nothing is a pretty big gut punch for her.
