Feel bad for Hutch. I wouldn’t expect it to be career ending though
Put a rod in his tibia and he’ll be able to be out of bed and putting weight on the leg tomorrow. Not playing football for the next few months, but good enough surgery to bear weight immediately (usually). Nonunion always a possibility, too, but not very common in young, healthy patients with good nutrition and soft tissues

The reason why other leg injuries such as Alex Smith were career ending is that his was open, contaminated with dirt and soil, and became infected and got osteomyelitis. That’s why he required such a long recovery, multiple surgeries, long term antibiotics, soft tissue flap coverage, etc. Obviously it’s possible Hutch’s break might be open with a higher risk of infection too, but didn’t look like it at first glance

🤞🤞 for Hutch he comes back from this one without any of the above complications
