Retzlaff's stats breakdown, O-Line play, Special teams and the Defense: Total team wins.

I'm about to share some less than hot takes.

This year's 6-0 start is due to having a complete team.

If you look Retzlaff's numbers not a whole lot jumps out as special when looking at his base stats.

He's 42nd in the nation in passing yards.   YDS 1,426

His Rating is 147.5, which puts him at 45th in the nation.

He's 13th in the nation in TD passes:   TD 14   (THIS DOES JUMP OUT)

He's 49th in passing avg:   AVG 8.0

He's 77th in CMP%:     CMP 108    ATT 179   =  60.3%

Rushing (including lost yards on sacks): 168 yards, 1 TD, 5.25 yds/carry

But here's the stat that REALLY jumps out to me: Out of 376 CFB players who have registered a dropback pass this season, only 5 QB's have taken less sacks with as many or more pass attempts as Retzlaff.

The Line is really doing a killer job this year.

You put the quality Line play together with:

A special teams that has a returned punt TD and returned KO TD , excellent punt coverage, solid FG kicking, 10/13 going 4/6 from 47 yards and further

Our AMAZING Defense is ranked 1st in Pass Defense Efficiency and out of 133 Teams we're 24th in fewest penalized yards for Defenses, which helps so much in cutting down on freebie sustained drives by the opposition.

I cannot rememeber a BYU team where I felt so confident no matter what unit was taking the field.

Looking forward to Friday so I can cheer on my lifelong favorite team have a chance at starting the season 7-0!
