Two reasons why I strongly dislike the Padres
Manny Machado
The Dodgers traded for him at the deadline in 2018. His time with the Dodgers was overall pretty substandard compared to expectations. In 2018 with the Orioles he played 96 games with an OPS+ of 162. In 66 games with the Dodgers his OPS+ fell to 122. Still well above an average player, but a large drop off from his earlier production. To highlight that, he struck out 51 times in the 96 Orioles game and 53 times in the 66 Dodger games. Then in the World Series vs Boston, he managed 4 singles in 22 at bats, with 5 strikeouts and a meager .390 OPS. Then he went to the Padres and has resumed his All-Star career. He generally hasn't been as good with the Padres as he was with the Orioles, but he's been better than he was in those 66 games with the Dodgers. The only good news is that the 5 prospects the Dodgers gave up to get him have played a grand total of 0 games in the MLB. Plus, he's a punk.

Yu Darvish
The Dodgers traded for Yu at the deadline in 2017. Darvish has been remarkably consistent throughout his career. His numbers in 2017 with the Dodgers were all a bit better than his numbers for the Rangers prior to the trade. He's been more or less the same player in his career prior to his stint with the Dodgers as he's been since that time. In the 2017 playoffs, he pitched one game in the NLDS (5 innings, 1 run, 7 Ks) and one game in the NLCS (6.1 innings, 1 run, 7 Ks). Both were Dodger wins. Then comes the World Series vs the Cheating Astros. He started two games, pitched 3.1 innings and gave up 9 runs (1 unearned). 21.60 ERA. 0 strikeouts. Yes, the Astros were a bunch of cheaters, but come on man. At least he's not a punk.

Two years in a row that the major deadline addition for the Dodgers were World Series busts. Then they go to new teams and resume their stellar careers.
